Pitt State president plans second year of unique way to raise student scholarships

Last summer, University President Dan Shipp embarked on an ambitious fundraising campaign to raise $8 million for scholarships and the student experience by riding his bike across Kansas and meeting with alumni and friends along the way. He called it Dan Bikes Kansas, and it worked.

Pitt State, Ferris State ink two-year deal for 2024-25

The Gorillas will host the Bulldogs in the 2024 season opener on August 31 at Carnie Smith Stadium and travel to Big Rapids, Mich., for the 2025 season opener.

Kansas SBDC at Pitt State helps local businesses get started, gain traction 

Jennifer Mowdy had a dream of owning her own business — a bookstore with cats! — but had no idea where to start. A series of free consultations with the Kansas Small Business Development Center laid the foundation, and this fall she opened the door to The Literary Cat Co.

University begins search for new provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs

A national search begins for a provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs, a position held by Dr. Howard Smith since 2019. Dr. Smith will retire in June after a decades-long career in education, the last 28 of which were spent at Pitt State.

Pitt State to re-launch men's golf

After announcing the addition of women's soccer last August, the University will restart its men's golf program in 2024-25 and launch a women's golf program beginning in 2025-26.

KRPS shifts to news/talk format ahead of busy news year

With a busy year of news on the horizon, KRPS 89.9 FM has switched formats to ensure listeners are up to date and fully informed. The station is located on the Pitt State campus and has served the Four States since 1988.
